
Robert J. Fries (“Rob” or "Senior") rejoined his son Robert C. Fries in their family law firm, FRIES & FRIES, P.C., in February 2015. He concentrates his practice on:

Business law, particularly business formation
Management-side labor and employment law
Prior to returning to the firm, Rob was in-house counsel with Groendyke Transport, Inc. (“GT”) from January 2003 until January 2015, as Vice-President of Human Resources and Employment Law. Rob continues to represent Groendyke as its Employment Counsel. Prior to joining GT, Rob was a Senior Attorney, Labor and Employment, for ConocoPhillips and before then, Phillips Petroleum Company, in Bartlesville for fourteen (14) years. He concentrated his practice in counseling and litigating labor and employment matters before administrative, state, and federal judges throughout the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.
Before joining the private sector, Rob was a Board Agent and then Acting Resident Officer for the Tulsa Resident Office of the National Labor Relations Board (“NLRB”). Prior to his NLRB service, Rob was an Investigator with the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission in both Oklahoma City, OK, and Dallas, TX.
Rob currently serves on the Board of the Bartlesville Area Habitat for Humanity. He has also served on the Board of the Library of the City of Enid and Garfield County as well as the Autry Technology Scholarship Fund and the Autry Technology Executive Council in Enid, OK. Rob was also a Big Brother with the Bartlesville Big Brothers and Big Sisters organization. His “Little Brother” is now well over 6’ tall working in the oil fields around Elk City, KS.
Rob is a Navy combat veteran who served in Vietnam. He has been married for over forty-five (45) years. He and his wife have two (2) sons and six (6) grandchildren. In partnership with his oldest son, his youngest son is currently on his fourth deployment to Afghanistan where he works in the intelligence field training Afghanistan military officers.
